Don’t know why they keep going with the same offer that President Trump already said he won’t accept.
What deal do you think their pushing for? 0% tariffs, no on importing rice, but they will invest what they are currently investing in the US? That’s my guess and I have experience negotiating in Japan. It’s very difficult and extremely time consuming.
with Japan’s current political vulnerabilities, the world (including the US) might see an opportunity to push for more favorable terms in the ongoing negotiations … I guess the “lesser” of the evils is to continue… a weak leadership is better than no leadership… since other major powers like China will also look for strategic openings
