What a disgusting human being. He tracked her down to a refuge and waited until she came out with their child.
At least he couldn’t use manslaughter as a defense, entirely premeditated.

Manslaughter is a charge brought by the CPS, it has a lower evidential bar than murder.
I think what I’m trying to say, albeit poorly above, is that his actions met the requirements that the CPS need to make a charge of murder with a strong expectation that the Jury will find the defendant guilty.
Long story short his actions could be proven to fall into the requirements for a murder charge.

Good point though, my post is very poorly worded.
He pleaded guilty to manslaughter and possession of a knife but denied murder, claiming he had intended to kill himself in front of his wife but „totally lost control“.
If only he had done that! The world would be a better place without him in it.
