Dozens of people spontaneously vanish each year. it’s just not really widely reported.

My own fun DDL story. My partner was doing a preservation carpentry program at the North Bennet Street School in Boston a few years ago. DDL was also at the school taking a violin making class. We assumed he was learning for a role for a Stradivarius biopic or something. She was too afraid to approach him, though.

Cause method acting is lame and stupid, but I’m sure it takes a lot out of you to be so goofy and pretentious.

He hasn’t disappeared. This is just a fluff piece about what an ego maniac he is and thinks he’s too good to act or do the movies he’s been doing.

He gets a lot of flak for his full immersion acting but you can’t argue against the amazing results. I just watched the director’s cut of “The Last of the Mohicans” and his performance is mesmerizing.

People low key mock him for it but it’s like criticizing someone who hits home runs right handed for not hitting them left handed. His process belongs to him and I just wish he’d make more films. There’s no one like him, except maybe Meryl Streep.

    7. Imagine Day-Lewis co-starring with some old school actor who barely even reads the script like Michael Gambon, Sean Connery, or Marlon Brando.

    8. Can a man not retire in his old age? What more does he owe us? Let him live his life.

Great actor crappy headline. The actual article is ok and acknowledges Day-Lewis’ repeated mentions of wanting to retire. Nothing really that new here but a nice summation.

He just retired after a career that lasted for decades and provided us with timeless roles. Let the man have his peace.
