Artikel 8 (2) (b) (viii) des Rome -Statuts definiert als Kriegsverbrechen die "Übertragen Sie direkt oder indirekt durch die Besatzungsmacht von Teilen ihrer eigenen zivilen Bevölkerung in das Gebiet, das sie besetzt". In einfacher Weise verbietet es die Übertragung der Bevölkerung der Beschäftigungsmacht in das besetzte Gebiet und die erzwungene Vertreibung der Bevölkerung des besetzten Gebiets.

I can clearly observe the situation in the area between Deryneia and Famagusta center, i.e. Lower Varosha. Until like 2018, property prices were low in that area and nobody built any new buildings or made renovations. Because it was one of the most guaranteed areas to be given „back to the Greeks“. This changed first slowly but since after 2021 or 2022 more rapidly. Nobody cares anymore and new constructions are popping up. There are still some limiting factors (especially, no easy coast access) but the area lost it’s stigma.
This will make any solution more difficult

I’ve noticed this for a while. While we’re thinking how stupid tatar acts and sounds, he’s way smarter than any of us give him credit.
If you look at it closely most of his actions are deliberately aimed at making any future solution more difficult. And not just with his propaganda/narrative trying to poison the relations between the communities.
He is specifically targeting all the issues where we had agreements in 2017. Bringing in WAY more colonists(more than anyone realizes yet btw, but thats an opinion dont take it as fact), opening Varosha, giving „citizenships“ like its candy, constructions on GC land also seem to be deliberately located in areas that were agreed to be returned.. That’s just off the top of my head..
