What are these political conventions for I’ve always wondered? Is it more or less a celebration party for talking about the Ws the party has gotten recently? Policy?

What’s the point of a convention when you have a big majority?
Is this a gift to Poilievre? His most vocal public conservative critic is Teneycke. Keeping the Ontario PCs away from the leadership review gives Poilievre a few more percentage points and a stronger mandate.
