      A lot of folks that showed up for Harris would vastly prefer candidates like Bernie and AOC too

      For me its not even their progressiveness. But its a rare example of where I actually believe the politician wants to do what they are saying.

      I’m extremely open to more centrist politicians, but right now everyone from every side just sounds and acts like a liar constantly.

      What we really needed was ranked choice voting in all 50 states. That way, the people who wanted to try and get their candidate could at least have Kamala in spot 2 as a backup.

      Yeah, I also wanted people like Bernie and AOC, but I still showed up to vote, because I knew the alternative was going to be fascism. The Dems who skipped the vote are just as responsible for everything that’s happening right now as MAGA are.

      Are there any people that didn’t vote willing to give an explanation as to why? As someone that is a left leaning moderate I am intrigued to hear why this election was worth abstaining. I have voted for many candidates I am not entirely happy with, but did so because the alternative option was worse and will only “move the political goal post” farther into right wing behavior and legislation. I feel for progressives and how they fairly feel misrepresented, but I can’t fathom how letting Trump and project 2025 ideologies be steamrolled into law is going to help anything that you care about.

      It’s always so weird seeing so many people claim to be so upset Trump won and yet simultaneously engage in rhetoric that helped make it happen in the first place. How many of you are not using your heads, how many of you are secretly Republicans trying to make Democrats look bad, and how many of you are just plain scumbags?

      I’m not sure if I want Bernie or aoc to be honest, but I want candidates that can win, and if that is what it takes then I’m all for it. I rather have them than maga minions . Dems need to win elections

      A lot of us who voted for Harris would prefer a more progressive candidate like Bernie or AOC. However, we also understood that Trump’s victory in the election means that the republic is over and there won’t be any more general elections. I wish that these people understood consequences.

      If you’re a „democratic“ voter and you skipped last election because you didn’t like Harris, you are a massive part of why we have Trump. As a queer person, I actually hate you. You’re not the only reason, Democrats should have campaigned better, but you’re still one of the big reasons he won.

      Thanks for helping the worst president in history get elected. The children, brown folk, and queer folk who are going to be, and are currently being, persecuted for the next 3.5 years will never forget. You became a servant of evil.

      You’re not a Democratic voter if YOU DON’T VOTE. You’re an accomplice to everything going wrong in the country. Every fucking headline about the Trump administration is something *you didn’t care enough to put a tiny effort into avoiding.*

      You didn’t care that he was friends with Jeffrey Epstein, you didn’t care about Project 2025, you didn’t care about giving nuclear power to someone with *blatant* cognitive issues. There’s no second chance…you knew what was at stake and you did NOTHING. Every single story about Trump dismantling shit should make you think “I enabled that.”
