    1. They did it once as a stunt for the cameras and then never went back. They were just trying to impose themselves on men’s spaces.

You can see a lot of parallels in today’s society.

I grew up around there, and women were definitely Swimming there around the early 90s.
Probably because a more normal thing after this protest in the video

it sounds like one of the few places in Ireland where, back in the day, gay men could exist? in circumstances like this, I often ask myself, would we be upset if women wanted a nude beach to themselves?

      Interesting bit of nudist culture/information.
Coming from The Netherlands which is next to Germany where the nudist/FKK culture was huge , which got imported a bit by the Netherlands and Netherlands had their own culture of nudism it was interesting to see.

I understand the womens centiment, if their wasnt an equal place for them to do the same as women i agree with their stance.
But i will say i think both parties nowadays aswell should be allowed to have their own places and if they dont want the other to be in theirs then that should be fine.

We have women hours at gym or women only gyms, but its still seen as sexist if you want to do the same for men, i know why it exists , obviously we all know, but if theirs women only places their should be men only places.

Anywyas, thanks for that post OP, interesting to see coming from NL.

    5. A friends mother was one of the women. I don’t remember seeing this, but I do remember seeing her boobs in the Evening Herald.

I specifically remember seeing this on the news and, I can’t lie, it stuck in my mind so much that I STILL think of it regularly when I pass the 40 foot now.

In fairness, I was 13, and back then we didn’t have wall-to-wall access to images of naked women that you whippersnappers enjoy now. You kids don’t know you’re born…
