No, he’s not. He’s a tankie nutjob, and he’s not a frontrunner in the leadership race by any means. He’s gonna get the Ruby Dhalla treatment, if he somehow manages to get people to donate 100k him even with his insane views.

Despite strongly disliking the federal NDP, in the lead-up to the last election, I said that I hope they don’t get obliterated. I said this because I see the value of political pluralism, but I would honestly revise that position if this guy somehow wins the leadership race; if the NDP picks a guy like this as their next leader, they deserve to go the way of the dinosaurs.
I appreciate anyone in Canada speaking out about the genocide in gaza, but he’s not a politician in any real sense of the word. He has shown no ability to build a movement or to bridge divides. If people are looking for a Canadian Mamdani, they should look somewhere else.
