    1. These videos are incredibly interesting. Seeing how poorly positioned the Americans are forced to be because of the geography really helps one understand how the Tali were able to carry on an effective guerilla war for so long.

dont worry about the down votes, videos like this are important for understanding an almost deliberatly misunderstood war, thank you.

Every time I see this… just horrible, sitting ducks on the side of a mountain, no cover, enemies higher and lower than them on a alternate ridge… just horrible

This is why nobody will ever conquer those people. From other side of valley they’ll just rain in streams of ammo and fade away. Impossible to beat.

I remember watching an edited video that had this clip and thinking it was operation redwings for the longest time. It’s not

    5. You can read about this in the book „The Chosen Few“. If you have seen the documentary Restrepo this is actually their sister Company who was in the country at the same time. Absolutely harrowing deployment and culminates in the battle of Wanat which led to multiple investigations.

    6. If people at home had seen this more often and the IEDs I am sure it would have ended a lot quicker. We have so much propaganda and misinformation in our Western country but we just don’t want to admit it.

Luckily the attackers cant shoot. A successful ambush with that many guys should end in a shooting that is over in the first volley. A successful ambush is a shooting, not a gunfight. A little organization and it would have been very bad.
