Poilievre will keep her on as a chip to use in case his leadership is put on really shaky ground. (Although, he would much rather keep her around as she is realistically the other half to his entire brand)

That being said, her presence will do more harm than good in the meantime. She is far too partisan and bought into the attack dog mentality. I know extreme CPC partisans who worked on the Hill for years and who absolutely despised her under Harper. She has even more influence and power now (even if she is “stepping back” a little).

Interestingly, despite her being praised as a smart Conservative mind in the backrooms, she actually has more of a record of losing. She ran the 2015 CPC campaign, and also ran the 2025 CPC campaign. Both of which were losses. She was also swiftly removed from Ford’s office years ago. She realistically wouldn’t have a career in CPC politics anymore if it weren’t for her deep connections to Poilievre. Most others soured on her years ago.

If this is true, than holy fuck is PP a bad politician when it comes to the big stage.

Keeping Byrne means he will double down on the same type of campaigning he has done for the last 10 years.

PP is incapable of understanding that the moment has changed.
