Like I know nothing is guaranteed, but it would be real shitty to make these changes right as a bunch of people are graduating, and being told “Surprise! No more options for you!”
Obviously some people were abusing the system, but so many people were just going through the system as designed. Pulling the rug out from under them would be shitty.
And to reiterate… just because it was never guaranteed, doesn’t mean it’s not shitty for them if it falls through after spending a ton of time and money on their education with the understanding they would be eligible. These are still people. At least this way, people can decide now whether or not to start a program in September.
