I’m absolutely shocked that Bill O’Reilly is unapologetic about his lies.

      Just floored.

I’ll never forget, and never forgive Bill O’Reilly for the “Tiller Tiller the baby killer” trend.
He literally got an abortion doctor killed. Blood is absolutely on his hands.

So for him to flippantly dismiss being caught in a fucking lie is just so galling.

    3. They lie, they know they’re lying and they continue to lie because they’re counting on the fact that the consumers of their lies have ingested enough of their lies that they can’t tell what a truth looks like anymore.

O’Reilly is looking for a moment of fame. The pictures and testimony of Trumps minor rape victim is damning for Trump. These white supremacists, Nazis, and National Christians had this information before the nominations for president. The GOP is a creepy lot. They had no problem supporting a rapist because that’s how deranged they are. The list of republicans that are felons and sexual predators keeps growing. No wonder they support tRump.

How does a person live with themselves knowing they support MAGA and all of this vile shit?

They’re either dumb as fucking rocks, evil and vile people themselves, or both. Either way, they’re pretty sad overall.

      >muttering a truculent “yeah, so”

The MAGA response for the next 3.5 years

You know the 2nd most frustrating thing about modern political reporting?

How some jackass that hasn’t had any claim to relevancy in a decade or more can run their mouth and it’s treated like news, no matter how they were forced out of the limelight the first time.

I don’t care what Riley has to say about shit unless it’s an apology to the women whose harassment got him fired in the first place. I don’t care what any Clinton thinks about Donald. I have not given a shit about a word out of Carville’s mouth for decades. I have never given a shit about Maher.

I get it, legacy media is living in the past. Biden and Pelosi and Schumer still think it’s the 90s and you can declare someone an enemy of the state on camera and still make a playdate with your kids the following weekend. But these people are not news worthy. They do not have some special insight. They are not “in the know.” Their ramblings have all the authority of the homeless street preacher shouting about the end times and misquoting Luke. But then 24 hour, terminally online news media, desperate to not get beaten to a “scoop” reports it as real news, legitimizing it, all on the basis of who they USED to be.

    8. MAGA don’t care if Trump and Republicans are on the list. They only want the names of Democrats on the list. This isn’t about justice for the victims it’s about owning the libs.

    9. For a lot Republicans and their pundits, they never cared about or believed Epstein or the conspiracies. These people are just expressions of their audience and are captured by the audience and voters that butter their bread (be it votes or views).

For Republican voters was useful to attack Democrats, nothing more. They don’t actually care about the underlying allegations but are more attached to the idea of calling their political opponents pedophiles and suggesting the „deep state“ knows it and covers it up. It is a compelling narrative. Their may be a small number of people who actually care but are large numbers in the MAGA world really dropping support of Trump over this? Probably not.

For the politicans and pundits, even if they don’t care or don’t buy into it, what are they going to do? They can not suggest otherwise because it is against their interest politically and financially. They are just an expression of the political movement itself which is not rooted in reality, being coherent and honest, etc…

The problem is, we can laugh and point out contradictions from the outside and hope it is useful but if the movement writ large can hand wave it away, it really makes no difference. Pundits and politicans can look like huge hypocrites but if they pay no political or financial cost, why would they care?

The problem is that there is a segment of the population that doesn’t care about being consistent or care about the matters they weaponize but rather care about Trump being in power and that is it. The conspiracy is a means to an end. I don’t know how you even weaponize this from the otherside to a political benefit because it assumes the otherside actually cared and can be moved on it in the first place.

It wouldn’t be suprising if this Epstein stuff doesn’t move the needle for Trump (it may have longer term consequences though for Republicans post-Trump) and we see them just drop the whole thing until they can start to use it to attack Democrats again with it (like Trump has already been doing).

If your name is on the list, you did something to get it there. All should be prosecuted. Doesn’t matter what letter is next to your name. Hopefully people will wake up to the fact that this isn’t as much about pederasts as it is about the rich sticking it to the working class. At this point they’re rubbing in the “one rule for thee, another rule for me” bullshit. Brazenly.

    12. We have that kind of people here in Finland. One of them said on the national television this: “Whether the story is true or false is irrelevant. This is how people feel about these things.” She had heard that an immigrant man was seeking a job and was sent to social services and was told to give his banking information like ”you don’t have to work here, the government will take care of you.” This was of course a made up story. This was in 2015.

    13. I hate how they just openly lie, everyone knows they lie constantly, and people still believe everything they say without second thought.

George Orwell thought the fascists of the future would bother with a consistent narrative or even rationality. Seems foolish now.

    15. Surprising no one, because – let’s remember- the current VP of this country admitted he was completely fine with creating and spreading lies if it would suit the admin.

It should be no wonder any of their supporters feel it’s permissible to do the same – not that it’s been especially different previously. They are more emboldened now.
