The name Kemi is originated from an old Same language and it means basically a field. Moreover, like a field thats left behind when a flooted river goes back to its place

So they gave their own names to cities already there! The text gives you the impression that the Tatars would have founded these cities 😆

Finnish Tatars are a group only mere hundreds in size, and as far as I know they have always used local names for the cities, as they had no reason to devise new ones.
I would gladly take a source.

Tatars is a muslim minority community who have lived here for 150 years and who are well off by socio-economic standards. If my memory serves me right, they held an annual football match with the Finnish Jewish community .
Something to think about for today’s immigration disucssion

Hüvinge is quite straight from Hyvinge in Swedish. Same with Abi from Åbo.

We should admire the Tatars and use them as a benchmark on how muslim immigrants can integrate succesfully into Finnish society

The title reposted here as is might be perhaps a little misleading. Those are their versions of thei cities already in place having those names, be it Swedish, Sami or Finnish originally.
The only mildly interesting one being Külbasi which is very different from both Järvenpää and Träskända.
