    1. > Thames Water spent at least £136m on the effort to secure emergency funding over 12 months, according to a leaked document that suggests costs outstripped the £130m the struggling utility paid in fines.

Not nearly as egregious as the bonuses to management IMO

    2. Is it time to nationalise the water companies and hold the ceos of these private profit driven companies to account yet or are we going to wait for them to con more money out of everything?

£136m just to ask for help…. Thames Water’s emergency budget leaks more than its pipes.

    5. I got my latest Thames Water bill this morning. It had gone up by 33 quid.

      Bastards.

    6. What is the point of this article?

Are they expecting the top legal, restructuring and banking firms provide their services for free?

The alternative is the company goes into administration, which is both expensive and a massive mess

Give them more time to load the company with debt and pay execs and shareholders bonuses and run the company into the ground so the taxpayer picks up the bill for fixing things.
