As a PC, Carney was a lottery ticket for Ford and Ford is a door way to the center right in Ontario. The exact population that Carney needs to win back for a liberal majority.
Carney’s a blue liberal, while Ford at least cosplays as a progressive conservative. Those two categories have significant overlap.
