Turns out the job involved defending Trump’s very real problem with fondling children and he’s like wow I thought it could be one or two but now it’s more than three? Apparently even Republicans have limits in this realm. Maybe he’s trying to set a trend it’s not normal for Republicans to give up on their man this quick.
Honestly as much I think the Epstein stuff is a small thing compared to all the harmful things his administration is doing elsewhere, I do think this is the one issue that could stand to fracture his base and cult more. Mainly because it shows them that he is no different than all the other politicians and establishment and everyone that they complain about. He rose to power as an outsider to drain the swamp. And this is the type of story that gives his base a look behind the curtain to realize that he now is the establishment and swamp that they are so upset about.
It probably doesn’t move the needle much, but is probably more effective at breaking up the cult than shouting about the atrocities of ICE and Medicaid cuts which his followers are all in on and have drank the kool aid. Mainly because the Epstein stuff gets more to the heart of why they fell for trump in the first place.
