A government attorney resigned over what he called a shift in Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) mission from safeguarding the nation to chasing deportation numbers.
„We still need good attorneys at ICE. There are drug traffickers and national-security threats and human-rights violators in our country who need to be dealt with. But we are now focusing on numbers over all else,“ Boyd said.

Remarkable how Kristi Noem is delighted with the high number of arrests. It shows me that her lack moral and emotional intelligence. High numbers of enforced death sentences, high numbers of killed opponents in conflicts or high prisoners do not speak of success, but of helplessness.
I mean it’s good.
But it almost seems like he’s just covering his ass for when the inevitable shoe drops. This is not sustainable. There are multiple stress points about to start cracking, let’s see what gives first.
Glad to see employees beginning to realize they aren’t just following orders and what is going on is immoral.
There is probably a non-zero amount of ICE agents who disagree with the current direction but feel stuck due to family/financial obligations. I’d assume this is a job that provides pretty good benefits, pension, decent low 6 figure salary. Even though there’s a bachelor degree requirement, it’s probably almost impossible for them to find something else as a quick replacement. I guess they could go work at police departments but would probably start at the lowest rung maybe making half of what they currently make
Don’t get me wrong – I know there was some moral decision for them to even want to join ICE in the first place, and I’m sure there’s a good number of them who enjoy the job for the cruelty. But I’d assume there’s at least some of them in a really tough spot right now having to choose between their home life and their morals. Maybe that just comes with the territory in a federal government law enforcement job

ICE agents are some of the biggest panty waist pussies to ever exist. Military gear to arrest 5 ft mexican ladies selling fruit. They deserve all the backlash and hate.
Kind of sucks that quitting is his only option. That means there aren’t enough moral people within the agency to make a difference. Because rather than quit the better thing to do is everything you can to stop what’s happening. This is telling me if people are quitting on moral grounds there is nothing to be done, and they will just be replaced by more immoral people.
For every person who quits there are 300 who WANT to quit but are scared of retribution. It’s no excuse but it IS data. Keep pushing the issues.
