If you keep repeating that you are a racist country, on stolen land, an oligarchy, then don’t be surprised that young people eventually start believing that the country is not worth saving.

We never should of consolidated our bases , our forces were disconnected from the average Canadian when this happened . This creates not only recruitment issues but it also let’s Canadians control the narrative of who and what our armed forces are . They are abused and alienated by both the left and right in Canada because our forces are mostly alien to our population.

Think about the lossed recruitment availability and population exposure by just shutting down CFB Calgary in 98 .

      Kindof a misleading headline.

Only 19% of the „yes“ crowd were the „yep I’d sign up immediately no matter the cause“ types, while 30% of the „yes“ crowd qualified it with „only if I agree with the cause“.

And who the hell cares what 55+ year old boomers have to say on this issue? Why would they even be a part of this survey? Nobody except Russia is taking 55+ year olds to fight a war. Their opinion is irrelevant.

    4. I served my 20. If I was forced back into uniform for any reason…

If I couldn’t flee the country, or fight my way out, I’d rather throw myself down the stairs or infront of a bus than spend another minute ever wearing cadpat.

There’s no wonder. The military sucks as a job. I got out in January, and still get hits of true euphoria when I realize I never have to go back. Its true happiness knowing that I’m done with the shithole that is the CAF.

It’s only gonna work if a career in the miltary is a meaningful and worthwhile career oppourtunity. There especialy needs to be something approaching a proper payout/pension at the end.

    6. Why wouldn’t you want to fight for a country with expensive housing (which the government did nothing but make worse) and no/low paying jobs.

As a young person, why would I fight and die for a country that hates me? This housing crisis is being perpetuated to keep the boomers happy. Let them fight for their precious property
