If Hamas had declared that there was no military path to victory this war would have ended a year ago and many tens of thousands of people would still be alive.

Unfortunately Hamas understands their only path to victory is throwing enough Palestinian babies at news media to convince college students to vote against pro Israel politicians. 

Oddly it ended up helping Trump get elected so im not even sure what their strategy is now, other than drawing out needless deaths in a war they already lost.
