Submission statement from article, „The United States overstretched the concept of national security in restraining other countries‘ and entities‘ rights to purchase land,“ Mao Ning, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson, said at a press briefing on Wednesday.

Mao said the ban, part of the seven-point „National Farm Security Action Plan“ unveiled by U.S. Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins on Tuesday is „against international trade rules.“

„We urge the United States to stop politicizing economic and trade affairs,“ Mao said.

What do you think this means for future foreign nations looking to purchase US farmland?

Will the same rules be applied to Saudi Arabia, or other nations?

What benefits or negatives do you see coming from banning foreign purchases of US agricultural resources?

    3. This should never have been allowed in the first place. They are buying land near US Military installations, and that needs to be taken seriously. There are no positives to allowing a country known for relentless spying and stealing intelligence to purchase land here. They would never allow the US to do it in China, so why should we allow them?

In addition, China threatens us for not selling our land to them? Really?
