Taxes on Gambling Losses.

Under the new provision, gamblers will no longer be allowed to deduct 100 percent of their losses from their income tax, and instead will only be allowed to deduct 90 percent. “Now, for example, gamblers who win $100,000 but lose $100,000—coming out even—would still be required to pay taxes on $10,000,” according to HuffPost.
You mean, the same way I pay $18,000 in state and local taxes but I can only deduct $10,000?

I thought the whole bill was read out on the floor? Seems like there’s no excuse.
Wait a minute. The D’s required the entire bill to be read in the chamber before the vote. Were the R’s not in the room??? If they had been, this provision would not be a shock.
It never ceases to amaze me how many politicians never read the damn bill on which they are voting. They should, at minimum, sign an attestation that they thoroughly reviewed it.

Today I learned a terrible rule was added to an omnibus bill by Idaho Republican Mike Crapo.
I wouldn’t be the least surprised if it was co-sponsored by Republican John Turdingham.
