What reason are the Kurds fighting Peshmerga? Are these Kurds more based with Turkey?
I’m guessing, but there have been recent peace overtures in Turkey, with their leader declaring a ceasefire – maybe this group opposes that?

As someone from Iraq, this was an intra Kurdish tribal fight which escalated into open war against the Peshmerga once they opened fire on both sides and tried to arrest tribal leaders of both clans.
More clans are joining the other two after their calls to fight the Barzanis. Looks like a civil war is cooking.
edit: more than 10 are reported dead and fighting still hasn’t stopped
Good idea to back light your fighters. Make it easier for then to get killed
