Woher ich komme, schmeckt Leitungswasser so schlimm, dass sich viele Menschen dafür entscheiden, diese 20L -Flaschen mit einem Spender zu Hause zu haben. Es gibt sogar Unternehmen, die sie an Ihr Haus versenden und die leeren mitnehmen, im Wesentlichen ein leckeres Wasserabonnement.
Ich interessiere mich sehr um den Geschmack und den Mineralgehalt meines Wassers, da ich zu Hause viel Kaffee mit Spezialitäten gebraute, aber jede Woche ein 6 -Pack von Volvic kaufen muss, ist unpraktisch, teuer und ein Umweltalptraum.

No. People either drink tap water or buy bottled water in crates.
Never seen one of these before, expect in public settings like hospitals, stores etc.. People in germany prefer bottled water (in those 1.5L bottles) or tap water. A lot of people also use soda stream to carbonate their tap water
I’m Team Tap Water! It’s almost free and I have not managed to find a region in Germany where water doesn’t taste to my liking.
Just drink the tap water, it’s usually great.

no we have extremely clean tap water here. it’s even better than our bottled water. there is no reason to install something like that here.

Yes, every home has one. We call them „tap“ or „Wasserhahn“ and they are hooked up to a citywide endless supply of drinking water!
They exist, they are just not common for private households because German tap water is high quality. If you for example have hard water people rather use a filter than buy bottled water for their tea.
There are companies offering this for offices but it is not common and costly so that bottled water is the cheaper option.
But tap water is fine mostly. It took my neighbour a long time to convince is foreign wife to give it a try as she watched him not dying for 3 months.
What you will see a lot are soda machines for tap water as a lot of people prefer to drink carbonised water.

Tap water is very tightly controlled and of high quality in Germany. Small caveat: that’s true for the wells and water mains. If you live in a house with old piping, a water filter might be a good idea.

The objective quality of tap water in Germany is very high. However, it does not taste great everywhere. For example, at my hone its fairly good, but at my work place it has a metallic taste, which is no problem for tea or coffee, but I don’t drink it plain.
No, we have “fließend Leitungswasser” and there is no chlorine in tap water. The water quality is controlled and often better, than bottled water.

Your own fault when you buy Volvic. Other cheaper waters taste just as good and some even better.
Go to a DM, they always have one of those for customers, take a photo of it and google the brand. I remember doing that before and there was a website where you could order them online (but never actually bought one)
