The source you got this from, which is loveourcyp on instagram, already says that this is a power plant in Kyrenia
Edit: probably worth asking on the instagram source, they should have a better idea of what’s going on

I mean, it’s not their native land, so it makes sense that they don’t care about how much they pollute it.

It’s the Teknecik Powerplant. The main source of power in the TRNC.
That powerplant kills everything around it and is an unregulated mess. But as soon as you try to touch it they will just stop working, effectively cutting out power to the whole north part of the island.
Real ones will remember in January 2012 there was a 30+ day power cut because the unionised workers of Teknecik powerplant went on strike when the government tried to sell the the powerplant to Turkey for „modernisation“.
No recognition = No regulation

The corrupt North authorities and the result of the quality of the fuel they’re burning in the plant.
It’s an abomination. The tenders for fuel purchasing, it is said were not carried out transparently.

AFAIK this is the only source of electricity apart from solar panels on Cyprus.
