      So instead of the Libertarians getting a percent and a half in national elections, now Musk and the Libertarians can each get three quarters of a percent!

      I feel that the programme is going to be Tea Party 2.0 but with far right economic agenda to benefit Musk and his cronies being the actual goal, not just a cover up for being pissed that a black man is president

      It is probably a big subsidy and deregulation away from becoming a disguise as another GOP arm.

      Something entirely unserious about this whole thing, especially coming from the guy who created the America PAC, and made an @/America Twitter account to trick people into thinking he literally speaks for the country. While the $250M-ish he is said to have spent on the Trump campaign in 2024 is an insane amount of money, and people credited him with „buying the White House for Trump,“ it hasn’t been reconciled that Elon was also incapable of „buying“ a Wisconsin Supreme Court seat. He also had no sway on changing the bill that just passed. Maybe it’s time people recognize that Elon Musk is not politically influential, he is a wave-riding clout-chasing do-nothing financier of already-winning political candidates.

      Musk cannot even be president of the USA because he is not born in the USA. Like Arnold Schwarzenegger, they cannot be president of the USA.

      Yes! Third parties are always power houses that permenantly change the electoral landscape. Heck, it feels like only yesterday when president Ross Perot was inaugurated.

      is it pessimistic of me to think this eventually will lead to another opportunity for establishment Dems to prop up more corporate milquetoast candidates thinking the Republicans are gonna lose by splitting votes anyway?

      The richest man in the world, a South African Nazi Canadian citizen, playing oligarch in the US (and failing badly) starts a political party in America called the America party to save the country from a party and a big round demented tangerine he just spent billions electing.

      I’m convinced we’re living in a simulation and what ever is controlling it is just bored now.

      Should have put X in the name, so it flows with his branding. Also, it should pay homage to what America once was, to remember it’s history. So instead of America Party, maybe American History X party.

      This is why I’ve always lol’d when people say we need third parties. That doesn’t mean shit if the parties are still garbage. What we really need (and will never get) is electoral reform. Ranked choice, open primaries, mail in ballots nationally, election holidays, and a repeal of Citizens United.
