    1. *Crazy doesn’t even begin to explain politics today.*

„A new NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist poll reveals that nearly 73% of Americans believe democracy in the United States is at risk, citing political violence and deep partisan divisions as the main threats.“

„The concern spans party lines, with 89% of Democrats, 57% of Republicans, and 80% of independents expressing worries about the stability of American democracy. *The survey highlights a rare consensus amid a politically polarized nation.“*

„Confidence in political leaders remains low. Only 43% of respondents approve of President Donald Trump’s administration, and approval ratings for Congress are even lower—27% among Democrats and 35% among Republicans. The survey also shows stark differences on immigration policy, with Republicans more likely to support deporting undocumented immigrants, even those working in critical industries.“

„The poll indicates particular anxiety among white college-educated women and Baby Boomers, groups that express the highest concern over political violence. This unease is likely fueled by recent events marked by protests, threats, and escalating political tensions.“

„Notably, 83% of Americans agree that presidents should obey court orders, reflecting ongoing debates about executive power during the Trump administration.“

„Experts say the poll underscores widespread anxiety about the health of American democracy as the country approaches a crucial election year. Whether this consensus will inspire greater civic engagement or deepen existing divides remains to be seen.“

Even if you’re a republican you prolly think political violence is on its way.

    3. The illusion of democracy is on the brink. The oligarchy is well and fine, but the puppet show they’ve been putting on isn’t working as well anymore.

    4. A_Refill_of_Mr_Pibb on

3 in 4 Americans haven’t grappled with the fact that they don’t live in a democracy anymore.

You elected a criminal that was born on third base…the sheer stupidity is unmatched.

    6. KaleLate4894 on

And republicans voted and supported it!

ICE has 150 billion to build detention centres.  Will be used for political opponents.  It’s coming.

The stupidity of America is beyond belief.

Its already gone. What is this silliness? Democracy is dead when trump became a dictator. Bye bye miss american pie.

I will ALWAYS blame people who voted for Trump.

They have helped Trump destroy our country.

    9. Available_Year_575 on

I get it, Trump has autocratic tendencies, yet at the same time, Americans got what they voted for perhaps more than any election in my lifetime (and I’m old). Whether it be to congress asserting itself, or just plain lying, most presidents don’t do much.

    10. It’s a real fight right now to reclaim the core value of the American Revolution – government must represent the people. We have a president and political party deploying troops against Americans and passing massive society changing legislation that a vast majority oppose. That’s the type of thing we revolted against before.

    11. Yes – Which is REALLY BAD !!!

This has the potential to set the USA back by decades, that’s in some respects, while the rest of the world would continue advancing.

    12. Why are we doing this over such a lowlife, trashy human? Why are we on the verge of ending the nation of Washington and Jefferson and Lincoln and MLK and Anthony and Douglas over *this little twat?*

**Trump is not worth any of this.**

Oh look, another useless survey posted on reddit. It’s not clocking to you that these polls do not stand on business.

Remember during the election all the propaganda polls that were posted on Reddit showing how Trump was ‘scrambling’ because he was losing his base? Then he blew out Kamala Harris in the election. Now post-election we have all these polls trending with everyone being anti Trump. Guess what, THESE POLLS DONT MATTER. Every single time you see a political survey posted on Reddit they have surveyed approximately 0-1% of the demographic they are reporting on.

    14. Should’ve voted like it when we were told it would be this way a year ago. This was all laid out in a certain plan that people said wouldn’t happen. The media didn’t take the threat seriously and now we are paying the price. For the record, I didn’t vote for this shit show. I, like many others, chose the only logical candidate. Unfortunately, there wasn’t enough of the logical thinking crew 8ish months ago.

    15. StankyBass0 on

Yet, 3 in 4 Americans would vote for Trump again if there was an election held today.

America was FOUNDED on the principle and premise of NO KINGS. It literally is the fundamental core belief that America is based on.

I had a professionally made “No Kings” flag.

I told a next door neighbor I was going to display it and he said that was awful brave. My neighbor across the street said it was dangerous and provocative.

Why would it be brave to display a NO KINGS flag in America?

America (Americans) has become so afraid of Trump and MAGA as to not speak out or to even be allowed to reinforce the basis of our Democracy and Constitution.

This is how much Trump has corrupted the psyche of America or at least the America we knew before him. Piece by piece he has destroyed the very essence of American democracy and one has to ask why and profuse benefit.

Why is it acceptable that an Republican American can fly a MAGA flag without fear of Democrats (or liberals) doing something to them or their flag but I’m not allowed to fly a No Kings flag without the potential of some kind of retribution?

That one factor tells us volumes. That one factor is an echo of history which we have seen many times before.

Stalin, Mussolini, Franco, Pinochet, Mao, Hitler, Un, Mubarak, Saddam Hussein, as well as every other dictators all created an environment were the simple act of speaking out was aggressively deterred by their supporters and then made illegal.

Clearly, America and her Democracy have been forced to her knees, her head extended over the chopping block while a militant mass of her supposed patriotic citizens are cheering as Trump raises an axe to decapitate her.

Putin’s puppet slays America from within and Russia wins without firing a single shot.

What’s so crazy is that only 2 of those 4 are Americans who recogize it (and that’s being generous), 1 is a member of a modern-day cult, and the other is completely checked out and/or doesn’t understand the question.

    18. Recent-Ad-5493 on

Hey, 3 of 4 Americans. The chance to stop this bloated pusbag was 9 months ago in November. You saying how much you hate him does JACK FUCKING SHIT now.

    19. BleuStLaurent on

When a country’s citizens are targeted because of a physical trait, that is not democracy. That is pure racism, and the state’s desire to get rid of it is not about deporting undocumented immigrants. It is pure racial cleansing, like that which took place during World War II. Americans who do not act now to free themselves from this tyranny are supporters of tyranny. What kind of people are you?

    20. Berserker76 on

We did this already in the lead up to the 2024 election. The polling showed that many Americans through our republic and democracy were at risk, so we thought it was a clear indictment on Trump and it would help Harris win. What we found out was that it was Republicans who were brainwashed and in a cult, believing that the democrats were the threat to democracy. It is probably the same thing here, MAGA cultists are idiots and really so is anyone else who continues to support or vote for anyone in the Republican Party, as they are all gutless, lying, cowards.

    21. Now’s the time to watch, record, take names and protest. Then, come 2028, simply forget about any hope of a standard political campaign. There’s no way to win like that. Just tap into the oceans of anger and go with one simple, clear objective/agenda/slogan: Lock Them Up. Then, when you win, actually go ahead and do it. Executive orders all day long. If there’s a sniff of a charge against a republican, use it and lock them up. Then go after all other corrupt officials, law enforcement, tech bro etc. Oh, you think there’ll be some backlash? No there won’t. They have no real support base. The absolute best they could ever muster would be a repeat of the Capitol riots. Offer them a bag of Doritos and they’ll all go home. Go after the supreme court too. Worried that would set a bad precedent? Have you been watching what this administration has been up to? If you think all this is extreme, ask yourself, do you really believe that it would be impossible to bring charges against leading Republicans? Are they just operating in the grey? I don’t think so.

I’m not sure how this is a 3:4 issue. This isn’t going to end well now either way, even if the Republic survives there’s going to need to be a reckoning, and I don’t have a warm and fuzzy about it surviving.

    23. Yeah, the US is a failed state already. It’s just running around the yard like a chicken with its head cut off before it drops.

The crucial question is how many answered yes and how many answered YES!

    25. Slight_Fun_8979 on

The opinions of those who re-elected a Capitol rioter don’t carry much weight — they’ll probably forget all about it again in four years.
