House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) spoke on the floor of the chamber for the longest time in U.S. history in protest of President Donald Trump’s big bill, breaking a record previously held by then-Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.).
Jeffries began shortly before 5 a.m. Thursday by saying he was going to take his “sweet time on behalf of the American people.”

Once again the „Dems should do something!“ crowd in this thread is yelling about how when a Democrat does something, it’s the wrong thing that doesn’t work and instead they should have done anything else. And obviously they won’t say what that thing should be nor will they explain why they’re upset. Just know that this was the wrong thing and we should all focus on how the Democrats are worse than the Republicans.
