Ich und meine Freundin sind nach unserem 5 -monatigen Erasmus -Studium aus Belgien gezogen. Es war eine wundervolle Erfahrung, außer den Zeiten, in denen wir mit unserem Vermieter interagieren mussten. Wir haben eine große Wohnung neben Graslei für 850 Euro/Monat mit 75 als a "Versorgungsschätzung". Er hat mir gerade seine Versorgungsberechnungen mit den Kosten aus unserer zweimonatigen Kaution geschickt. Die Preise scheinen absolut verrückt zu sein. Könnte mir jemand eine Ressource geben, um dies zu berechnen oder schnell auszusehen und seine 2 Cent zu geben? Ich habe ihn um einen detaillierten montly -Versorgungsbericht gebeten, aber ich bin nur ein bisschen in Schock, nachdem ich ständig die Heizung ausgeschaltet habe und er in den kältesten Tagen auf 21 ° begrenzt war, damit es so hoch ist.

Electricity units aren’t measured in €/m^3.
Water might be a bit expensive, but otherwise the unit prices seem to match with what I pay here in Ghent, so it’s the quantity of what you used you have to question.
11.3 euros per cubic meter of water is like double of what the average price is in Flanders.
Also, if he has some bags of electricity laying around, I want more info about that. (If he means /kWh, even then 0.29 is on the high end…)

Elek consumption is quite high for 5 months. Water consumption is also high for 5 months.
Unit price for water seems unrealistically high. You did have a high water consumption. I would expect about 2/3 of the unit price. Ask for a detailed invoice.
Electricity price and consumption seems normal. Gas price and consumption both seem on the high side, but within the normal range.
75/month for two people in winter months was definitively on the low side.
The water price seems high. There are 2 prices in belgium: the base price and the comfort price. You get 30m3 per living unit and an extra 30m2 per person domiciled in the living unit. So you should get 90m3 at the base price. You seem to be paying the comfort price which is double the base price.
Your comsumption and price seems wrong. For reference here my last utility bill.
We live in Wallonia, we are 3 at home.
For water (swde) we consume 37m3 between 20/10/23 and 16/10/24 and we pay 206.3 €
For electricity (engie) , between March 2024 and 2025. 1803kwh for 654€
For gaz (engie) , between March 2024 and 2025. 6600kwh for 765€
11,30€/m3 ??? Farys even says 12,80€/m3.
In the Netherlands the price is 1,86€/m3 including tax.
What’s with your water usage? It’s bloody high. The price for water is double the normal, but still, bloody high water usage for 5 months.

0.29 EUR/kWh for electricity is not bad. It’s 0.34 EUR this month. It was 0.62 EUR/kWh on average in 2024.
11.3 EUR/m3 for water is too much. It’s closer to 8.
Gas is way too high, it was only 0.08 EUR/kwh (0.94 EUR/m3) on average in 2024 according to the Engie app.
But since he made a mistake of 10m3 in his water calculations (949-891 is 58 and not 48, or do you get the first 10 for free) maybe first recalculate and see if complaining is wise.
To everyone saying the water unit price is too high. It really is not. You have just used a ton of it.

90m³ for 5 months: `90 / 12 * 5 = 37.5m³`
So 37.5m³ should be at the lower cost, the surplus at the higher cost.
The surplus being: `48.276 m³ – 37.5m³ = 10.776 m³`
37.5 m³ x 6,4150 €/m³ = € 240,5625
10.776 m³ x 12,8300 €/m³ = € 138,25608
total = € 378,81858
+6% VAT = € 401,5476948

*** BUT**, according to the meter values, Your landlord actually mistyped the 48 in the notepad. It’s 10m³ more, your usage was not 48.276 m³ but 58.276 m³ because the meter was 949.86m³ when you left and 891.584m³ when you entered.
So if we run the calculations again with 10m³ extra:
37.5 m³ x 6,4150 €/m³ = € 240,5625
20.776 m³ x 12,8300 €/m³ = € 266,55608
total = € 507,11858
+6% VAT = € 537,5456948
If we can assume the meter values are correct, you have used 58276 litres of water for 2 people. Which for 4.5 months is 431 liter per day. Which is incredibly high for two people.
You either had leaks, simple do use a ton of water, or the meter values are wrong.
Good luck proving the meter values are wrong (if you didn’t take pictures or proof) or there were any leaks if you no longer live there though.

I have no experience with gas usages or prices.
I mean, your water usage is about 320 liters per day. What the hell are you guys doing? I use about 60 per day, but I’m by myself though.
Electricity price seems normal, Water seems to be on the expensive end… Can’t speak for gas as I don’t pay for gas.

Prices seem ok. Gas and elek usage numbers look ok for first couple of months of the year.
But that water usage, Jesus. I used 10m3 in a year. Did u guys fill a pool?
