The T-62M, for modernized, are a product of the 1980s. Designed to be competitive against older NATO tanks like the M60 and Challenger 1 with a FCS comparable to a T-64A or T-72 Ural, with added composite armor. Later with ERA added as the T-62MV. All of them had a laser range finder, a ballistic analog computer, along with a updated two-plane stabilizer. Post-USSR the upgraded fleet had very few hours and excellent materiel condition. Unlike most of the shit in the late USSR.
None of them have been museum exhibits for decades. They’re old and outdated, but not any worse than the Leopard 1s provided to Ukraine. Far better armored with a worse FCS.
