      Don’t rejoice just yet. It’s a testing ground. If he deports Musk, that will signal NO ONE is safe. The world’s richest man who happens to be straight and White being stripped of his citizenship would set a precedent. Also, with how Trump wants to go after birthright citizenship, anyone who speaks out against him could be stripped of their citizenship if he gets his way.

      As entertaining as this shit show is, I hate that the president is “taking a look” at deporting naturalized citizens. He does not, and should not, have that authority.

      If Elon wants to threaten Trump he needs to say that he can fund primary candidates from S. Africa as easily as he can from the U.S.

      Elon Musk is an asshole, and while I’d love to live in a world where that asshole isn’t an American citizen and doesn’t live in my country, no president should be allowed to use *our government* to punish his political adversaries. Aside from the chilling effect this will absolutely have on all dissent, if the President can do this to Musk, he can (and will) do this to any number of the millions of Americans who do not support him.

      Trump should be impeached and removed from office merely for *suggesting* that he will use our government for personal, political gain. Him getting away with the threat itself will set a very chilling precedent; others who may wish to oppose him in the future will absolutely consider the threats he made here, and they’ll be less likely to speak out.

      No good American should be happy about any of this, even those of us who despise Elon Musk. If the President can do this to him, he can do it to you, too.
