I can’t wait to have a barbecue with friends and family and watch the fireworks.
So, I didnt vote for Trump and Im still crying because I didnt get my way.

This is a great litmus test for who is truly fanatical. Most people spend time with their families on July 4th. It’s a low key holiday. If you’re out protesting then you truly dngaf.
Strategically having protests on the 4th seems like a bad idea. you’ll have less attendees as a lot of people are going to want to atleast enjoy the day with family and kids. At worst you’ll have clashes in public spaces shared by everyone for fireworks celebrations or Trump will just use the mass protests to highlight how great of a job he is doing to bring back the American spirit on the 4th of July. Just my opinion but seems bad strategically. Guess we’ll see.

Trump wants to announce the signing of the Big Beautiful Bill on that day. He is going to have it on TV. These protests might take some attention away from that. That might make Trump upset. Does no one care?

I also am not crazy about the date even if I get where they’re coming from. I will be spending that day with my family, not out protesting.

In the Midwest, this day is and has always been a day celebrating the best of America, not the worst. Protesting Trump on a day celebrating being an American is a slap in the face to America. It is far more effective to have protests across the country on a day that every single person, news agency, member of Congress clearly realizes what is being protested-Trump and his absolutely unqualified, uneducated cabinet. Protesting on the 4th of July will be spun to say the protesters hate America blah blah blah. Change the date-it works against what you are trying to accomplish.
I’m gonna go if everything works out for me. disabled and contemplating and weighing the risk to make sure my mobility device won’t get damaged or taken. ill bring cases of water on the back for everyone.
Honest question. Do these protests have a policy goal? Who are they aimed at? Like if the message is preserve democracy and Trump, Congress, the SC, the military, the police and MAGA all say no, then what?

I don’t understand why it took so long to announce a July 4th protest, it kind of seems like a given but this has way less run up and advertising than the last big one. Hope it turns out well though.

They also know that protests don’t actually matter. They were ***expecting*** you to protest!

They think there’s a good chance that you actually will stand up and fight them. They are expecting you to have to do this. They are expecting blood. Anything less, and they win. Easily. So, they expect you to see this – and fight them! Tooth and nail. With blood.

Honestly, I have 0 interest in celebrating the 4th of July this year.
