    1. 3 Electricians for 1 hour. Did you seriously expect to it to be under 100€?

62 per man-hour is not a bargain, but it’s not an unrealistic rate either.

      3 electricians for 12 lamps.

for a work that could’ve be done by yourself.

      yes. that’s absolutely ok.

Pretty normal, yes. You had 3 guys come out to spend their minimum billable time for your job. Their rate is very reasonable. Not sure why they’d send 3 instead of one but 12 lamps is quite a lot.

    5. In situations like these always ask in advance how much it is going to be. Otherwise you are usually stuck with the bill if the amount is within the typical range for the service provided

Reasonable. I would have chosen a handyman rather than qualified electrician for this kind of job and gotten a cheaper rate.

I would ask in advance but also some house stuff can be done by watching YouTube “ how to “ videos .

Thank you for all the comments, I do realize now that I might’ve greatly underestimated how much it would cost. I think I’m just upset that they sent 3 guys when it could’ve been a two person job and one of the electricians they sent mostly just stood by the side and was very clearly an intern of some sort. They also only had one ladder, which made the job take twice as long.

I did do some research beforehand and it said that an hourly rate is between 25-40€ so I think I was expecting something around 35€ per electrican, not 62€

Next time I will definitely ask for a cost estimate beforehand.

    9. 62€ hour rate for a working hour is not only very reasonable, it’s alsmost cheap. You had three electricians for an hour. They didn’t even add a travel fee, which is very common. A travel fee varies, but can be in a range from 30€ up to 100€.

      **VERY IMPORTANT:**

**With that bill you can deduct the paid tax from your upcoming tax declaration. These are „household-related services“.**

Edit: Shoutout to u/Willi_Aunich! He mentions only the work-related hours are tax-deductable. I forgot to mention this! Give him upvotes! :p

    10. if 3 guys come and work for an hour you pay 3 hours. If one guy comes and works for 3 hours you pay 3 hours. 62 is also very reasonable price which is probably due to your landlord having an established relationship with that company. It’s usually more expensive.

    11. The hourly wage is totally fine, but why do they need 3 electricians for hanging up lamps

I mean, think about it: If that had cost you 100€, that would’ve been an hourly rate of 33€ before taxes and social security obligations of both employee and employer (Arbeitgeberbrutto). And not considering that the business has bills to pay (rent, energy, etc) and needs to generate profits to be stable.
