Quick note: Lighter reading for this longish weekend which is politics-adjacent. Mr Paikin did an AMA here a while ago (before my time here) which can be found in the sidebar items should anyone be interested in reading it. I thought it fitting to post this lighter read given his semi-retirement and dedication to Canadian political journalism.

Edit: Thank you McNasty for highlighting that Mr Paikin will be in semi-retirement. Good info to know!

    2. It’s the end of an era. It’s a shame to see Paikin retire(?) and the Agenda end. Paikin is one of the best journalists in the game and the agenda was very informative and many of its interviews interesting (I particularly enjoyed Paikin’s interview of former Premier Bill Davis or some of his interviews with Hugh Segal). It was also a heartwarming end to the series with Paikin interviewing his 91 y/o Dad.

TVO is great so I’m hopeful they’ll come up with a good replacement.

Too bad they didn’t carry on the show or present a new nightly current affairs program with a new host. TVO’s programming now consists of kids shows, British imports and documentaries about Ontario rivers.
