      # Trump Implicitly Threatens U.S. Aid to Israel

      Oh, that’s good. Wait…

      # Unless Netanyahu’s Criminal Trial Cancelled

      Oh well.

I mean, it’s not unrelated. Just before he bombed Iran, Netanyahu was up for a vote of no confidence over a matter of conscription and the ultra orthodox. Repeatedly, he’s used national emergencies to cling to power and to defer his legal woes, while pursuing extremely aggressive foreign policy. It does seem plausible that he’s going to incur more costs for the United States in the months ahead if he remains in power and those legal woes would otherwise continue. It *is* interfering with negotiations with Iran and Hamas.

Biden was chided for suggesting Netanyahu should be removed, and Trump will be chided for suggesting the charges against him should be dismissed. Either way, the status quo of Netanyahu trading crises for clemency seems likely to lead to further costs, and more conflict.

    3. John Le Carre said Trump was a gangster thug. „Nice little country you’ve got there.“ Extortion and threats and bribes seem to work very well for him. Rest assured he’ll never try diplomacy. It’s a foreign language to him.

I’m on the side of keeping his trial going. Suspension of aid unrelated.

People didn’t like Kamala’s laugh. That’s how we ended up in this timeline. Leaded gas won.

People in Israel don’t like Netanyahu. I’ve even read on Reddit that he is basically supported only by certain sects. He is a criminal. Justifying this and meddling in the due process of a sovereign country is ILLEGAL. Trump is corrupt, but the main problem is that the world (I’m not American) doesn’t see enough opposition to Trump—except from people like Sanders, AOC, Crockett, and a few others, but it’s very limited. The Democrats also need to regroup.

EDIT : Was a bit interested and asked chat GpT to tell me every time they tried to impeach / trial Natanyahu, surprise surprise – he would start a conflict or strong opposition with some country/ nation. So basically killing his own people to stay in power.

*Come on, guys. Be corrupt. Learn from us. Or else…*

    8. Wait, so, if the judicial proceedings continue, then Netanyahu will remain on trial, and the US will limit weapons spending to Israel?

      Seems like a clear winner.

Ahh I see. Netanyahu’s leveraged a ceasefire for Trump to help him stay out of prison. Netanyahu knew this was a non-starter for Biden and Harris, so he did what he could to put Trump in office. Trump is corrupt and can commiserate, he pulled strings to keep himself out of jail too.

      this title is confusing.

will he stop aid unless the trail is canceled

or will he KEEP aiding him until the trail is canceled.

      it’s the threatens part.

Trump is out of control. He has some kind of ruler derangement syndrome where he thinks he can tell every country what to do or else. Unfortunately, Congress or SCOTUS refuse to even try to rein him in.

These would be two good things.

Netanyahu goes to trial and US stops funding Israel and let’s them fend for themselves.

      What’s the problem?

Ultimately, he won’t do it though.

I gotta say Trump is the second best crime boss in the world. Second only to his friend and hero Vladimir Putin.

    15. Wow.

Of all the ways I’ve wondered how it might be possible to stop the US arming the Israelis to ease the killing in Gaza, Trump doing it to support Netanyahu was not ok my bingo card.

    16. Why doesn’t TACO simply give Bibi a pre-emptive pardon?

And front him $5M for one of the special US citizenships?

And make him Secretary of War?

Uhhh… he’s done it before and he’ll fucking keep doing it until this country decides to stop this DICK-tater.

      [2019 Trump-Ukraine Scandal](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2019_Trump%E2%80%93Ukraine_scandal)

“Trump enlisted surrogates in and outside his administration, including personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani and Attorney General William Barr, to pressure Ukraine and other governments to cooperate in supporting and legitimizing the Biden–Ukraine conspiracy theory and other conspiracy theories concerning U.S. politics.[1][2][3][4][5] Trump blocked payment of a congressionally-mandated $400 million military aid package, in an attempt to obtain quid pro quo cooperation from Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy.”

    19. This is some mind twisting stuff… Does it mean that for the past three decades the unconditional, unwaivering support that we had for Israel was actually just for… Netanyahu?

    20. 10yearsisenough on

Wait, so Netanyahu gets prosecuted for his crimes AND we stop funding their war?

      Oh no.

    21. Wait… so the trial could continue AND we’d stop throwing money in the Israel money hole? Stop I can only get so erect.
