Savo folks are friendly but crooked. In a good way, but then maybe not. You’ll never know, until you do.

They have a laid-back attitude that’s highlighted by the local dialect, but they also have a reputation for rarely giving a 100% straight answer.

There’s a saying that when a Savonian speaks, the responsibility is shifted to the person listening.

One joke about them is that at a train station, a member of staff shouted out „Are there any passengers going to Kajaani here? The train just left.“

    3. Well ehm hmm I might say that we are very unique branch of Finns to say at least.

    4. This is a screenshot from “Poliisi”, the Finnish take on these TV series where they follow police officers around in their daily duties.

This being Finland, these officers have a very different attitude than their US colleagues, and that turned some episodes into quite meme-worthy material.

Savonian police are more likely to have a sense of humor and a laid-back attitude. That sense of humor (and their dialect) might make them a bit harder to understand, though.

The Savo tribe is considered to be talkative and jolly, good merchants, and therefore utterly untrustworthy by the rest of the Finns.

    7. They are very laid back, as most polices in Finland. Police in Finland are have years of training so that everyone, including the police, have a happy day at work.

I added subtitles if you were wondering what they said
