      I fully expect in the next couple years we’ll get the big 6-3 ruling that says the government can deport anyone who hasn’t taken the oath of loyalty to Trump.

      Where would it even end? Lets say your grandparents were born to immigrants and they had birthright citizenship. Then they had your parents and you. Do you all lose citizenship? Just your grandparents? Just the people born to immigrants from non-white countries?

      Yep. There’s a super trumpy mom at my kid’s school.  She was born here to naturalized parents.  She thinks she’s safe. Unfortunately I grew up in the racist south.  These fuckers don’t think she’s American much less human.

      So the President gets outright total immunity and now apparently he gets to choose what’s law and what’s not. The Constitution is totally irrelevant now.

      Republicans, even brown and black Latinos for Trump, want an all white America. They don’t care if you were born here or came here legally. If you so much as look or sound like a foreigner, they want you off US soil and into foreign detention centers or prisons in places like Guantanamo Bay and El Salvador.

      The worst thing about illegal immigration is that it creates a group of second class people that are easy to exploit.

      The best thing about birthright citizenship is that it guarantees that that 2nd class is short-lived.  Parents may be exploited but their children (or maybe their children’s children) won’t be.

      Well, when you have a lifetime term, no real checks on SCOTUS’s power, what else did we really expect to eventually happen? We can’t even enforce basic ethics laws already in place. What needs to change is our system, money in politics, etc – and it all starts with midterms.

      GO VOTE.

      Considering every American, aside from Natives, are immigrants couldnt this be used against pretty much anyone? Like if the admin really wanted to deport someone could they do so on the basis of their great great great great great grandmother or whatever being an immigrant?

      They’ll use this to invalidate elections.

      Refuse to certify the election due to “non-citizens” voting and then wring their hands and go oh jeez this is such a mess…we need someone to be in charge while we sort this out… but a president can only serve 2 terms…. how about a temporary Chief Executive of the USA? But who could do it? 🤔
