    1. Can’t sue the gov for their lies, but you sure as hell can sue their Nazi cult media outlets. Glad to see someone finally standing up to the bullshit.

If I understand the playbook correctly, the next step is no more Fox TV stations in California unless they settle with him for cash and promise to say particular nice things on a regular basis.

Isn’t that the dominion settlement amount? Is there a reason for that or is it some kind of troll

    4. Smart. Newsom is playing his cards well against Trump.

Which means we’ll see a lot of fake Dems complaining about him.

You got pritzker doing jack shit and here is newsom resisting yet people say he’s not a good democrat or candidate

I hope this is the first of many successful lawsuits against Fox and it ends up driving them into bankruptcy.

    7. Goddamn right. Let’s make it more expensive than it’s worth for these fascist propagandists to lie as often as they breathe.

It could be challenging for him to win a case like this, as a public figure he will have prove „actual malice“. This means that he will have to prove that Fox News knew that what they were saying was false, or was said with a reckless disregard for the truth.

Hmmm… OK, maybe he won’t have that difficult of a case to prove.

For what? Some disagreement about when exactly he and Trump spoke on the phone? Doesn’t seem like there’s much substance there. I don’t think Dems need to be copying the conservative playbook on nuisance speech lawsuits.

Cue Fox running to their „we’re entertainment, not news“ defense

This is the way. This is how you start cutting down the propaganda arm of the GOP. If Trump is setting bad precedent with his bullshit lawsuits, return the favor and slam Fox with every single lie they perpetuate. Good on Newsom for taking an offensive approach.

    12. If Trump can get ABC to settle his case, I guess Newsom can throw the same shot and hit back at them.

I can’t wait to see how they spin this as intimidation when our president has been doing the same thing for quite a while now.

    14. As Fox News says in court: no reasonable person would believe that what we say is true.

Good for Gavin, we aren’t going to beat these bastards by taking the high road.

    16. Like that the number is from the Old Dominion suit settlement Fox made. Wish part of that settlement included a disclaimer for at least a year

Really hope this wins. How old is Rupert Murdock these days? I want off the Faux News ride ASAP.

    18. This should be the first of many suits until Fox is too scared to lie anymore. The lies need to stop. Sue Newsmax too while you’re at it.

Top tier trolling. This is the same amount they were fined in the dominion voting case, which also led to Tucker Carlson getting fired, which gave Jesse Water’s his career. This is a nice reminder that you can’t just make up the news as you go.

Say what you want about him but he can play the game and the moron trying to minimize him is going to end up making him the frontrunner instead.
