iran busy russia busy apparently armenia busy with coups and we are still not invading, safe to say we are under an occupational regime that is more worried about making money instead of doing what is needed, for real for real we have the biggest coward as a leader, our boy has been screaming for years now about west azerbaijan yet still dares do nothing, would rather scream behind his desk about armenia, what a loser

oh well it is what it is

    4. ANCA loudly condemned this hearing as an Azerbaijani ploy, but if you watch it there’s absolutely no indication of that (of course). I think ANCA was just mad they weren’t invited (because they’ve pissed most of Washington off)

I am an Iranian Azerbaijani from Canada. Iran has been treating us Turks with discrimination since Jaafar Pishevari’s Azerbaijan Democratic Party in Tabriz. We are over a third of Iran’s population.

I see similarities between the Azerbaijanis in Iran and the Kurds in Türkiye. My impression of HDP was that they are for the oppressed but I see your point in attracting PKK separatist members.

I don’t think separation is to anyone’s benefit but an autonomous self governance can be beneficial to everyone in the country… that goes for both Kurds in Türkiye and Azerbaijani oğuz Turks in Iran. Something like Quebec, not exactly but similar.

About Armenians and Azerbaijanis… Peace and friendship is to their benefits but foreign governments don’t like a strategic place like the Caucasus to be conflict free… I think Armenians are being played with more than they realize.

I see your point and here are a few explanations about Iran. After the Mongol invasion the Mongol/Turkic tribes of the central Asia adopted Islam and the Farsi language and ruled Iran (even India) for over 500 years. Up to the early 1900s Iran was ruled by Qajar Turks and raised their crown prince in Tabriz. The antitürk sentiments started when the western idea of an ethnically cohesive nation was more important than the old idea of „ümmet“. This was an colonial/imperial trick to put us in the mess you see all over the middle east.

The Iranian government wants you to believe the Azeri population is lower than 1/3 and yes they don’t provide proper data about it because they are afraid of Azerbaijanis not the other way.

I understand that Ottomans moved the Kurds against Kızılbaş but I also think Assyrians and Armenians were a target too not only the Shia Kızılbaş and Alevi.

About the mutual benefit, when a nation settles their ethnic and religious differences, they can thrive and move forward otherwise the tug and pull will keep everyone behind. That’s why the heart of westerners are filled with joy when there is war and conflicts in the middle east. Sometimes you’d even think they caused it on purpose. 😉

And yes Quebecers are the Kurdish of Canada in many ways lol
