This is all bearish news, sold to retail as a good thing.
Otc purchases do not contribute to marketcap, so beyond fidelity’s innital purchases. Further distribution from their supply will not strengthen price.
Also notate, hegies and institutional investors never needed etf to purchase these assets the sec already deems them competent enough to understand the risks, and institutional investments are likely already priced in.
It is likely they will slowly rug out and soak up 401k liquidity as retail invests their retirements. Pulling that liquidity away from your mom and dad’s retirement and into their own accounts.
This is bearish news, as this sets the future up for a strong drain as retail retirees start to pull, to sustain themselves. Without adding much if any upward pressure.
I hate to say it but this news tells me btc caps at 140k max and if it doesnt hit it by October. It will likely be a new bear market taking away generational wealth and elderly peoples retirement.
Walmart greeters are about to be the „would you like fries with that.“

Fidelity buying in more says a lot imo.
Things have to be pretty slow for etf buys to be in the news
i’m starting to think that institutions are accumulating so that they have something to dump when it eventually pumps.
