Iran is likely to race to the bomb now, and both the US and Israel is touting this as „mission accomplished“.

If their ego is so wrapped up in their false narrative, they will likely do nothing to stop Iran. Strongmen cannot admit failure.

Israel especially is likely to have less leeway moving forward for these kind of engagements. It sounds like they used up a lot of their goodwill to accomplish not very much.

If Iran has the bomb within a year, this whole incident will be why.

The White House and Pentagon both confirmed the authenticity of the intelligence report, but still claim it’s „fake news?“

And they have the audacity to call other people „losers.“

Would have it been so hard for Trump to say something like : „In order to incite Iran to get back to negotiating, we have conducted a limited, show of force operation against Iranian nuclear facilities. Destroying Iran’s nuclear capabilities for good would require a sustained military campaign. This is not our intention at the moment, because we believe that reason might still prevail, but we wanted to remind Iran that the option is on the table“.
