It is not just the low income ones. I would say the middle class in Canada goes through one of the toughest times ever recorded. And without any sign that this will end anytime soon. It may be a good time to question the Canadian model where the growth was obtained largely through a massive immigration. This allowed the companies to compensate the reduced productivity with a large workforce of cheap workers instead of investing into more modern equipments. While this may have worked for a while, it is no longer the case. The companies have to start investing more in technology and one way to force them doing so, would be to drastically reduce the immigration targets for the next 15 to 20 years.
