Centrism has killed the Democratic party. Democrats are in the toilet for support, and after decades of Democratic centrism we have little to show for it. Health care is still the number one reason for bankruptcy, and millions still have no healthcare. Growing economic inequality. A shrinking middle class and massive increases in the wealth of the top end of town.
Democrats want me to believe that this is all part of the long game, and that eventually they will fix these things. I call BS.

The fact that Democratic establishment is lining up behind Cuomo is a perfect example of why it’s a failed party. This is the same party that brought Michael effing Bloomberg on the debate stage to derail Bernie.
If Cuomo loses, I hope he takes it with the same grace that is expected of Progressive candidates when they lose a primary. Unfortunately the more likely outcome will be Cuomo and his backers mounting an independent campaign hoping to torpedo Mamdani.

Someone help me understand the last far left or right candidate that has run in a nationwide election, or statewide election or major city election(NYC, San Fran, Chicago, etc), won and successfully run the state, country or city well for a solid re-election.
