Putting someone in a dilemma between two choices which each have a cost is a great chess strategy and I suspect carney would be a formidable opponent.

I have not much to say except that it gave me a chuckle that the article spent a good four or five paragraphs talking about how terrible Trudeau was. This was just the first. They really can’t let go of the fact that he’s gone, it’s fanatical. And the statement that only now is the apple chomping video juvenile is hilarious. It was juvenile from the moment it aired and I hold a significantly lower opinion of anyone who liked it.
Poilievre has a leadership review in January of next year. He’s most definitely going to win his by-election. I’m curious if CPC voters as a whole will continue to have faith in him by then.
Carney is stealing some moderate conservative support, and brought back Liberals pissed off at Trudeau. I’m not even sure if Poilievre can manage to try his same strategy again once back in parliament, because aside from a certain type of conservative that loves Poilievre’s style, I guarantee that others will be sick of hearing it.
His supporters will argue that Poilievre is the best CPC leader they’ve had since Harper. And the CPC will try to do to Carney what they did to Trudeau. But if they haven’t by now, eventually, people will turn on Poilievre, especially if they don’t manage to close the gap in the polls with the Liberals.
The conservatives completely fumbled the most slam dunk election in history. Carney had the position of trying to sell a vision while wearing the stripes of the most hated party in Canada in recent time and they couldn’t capitalize on it and now carney has been given the chance to back up his promises.
Unless carney completely shits the bed I don’t see how the conservatives counter this now. The Trudeau era tactics will not work here
