Nobody is forcing anyone to listen to these podcasters that you don’t like  lol.

    2. Mammoth-Magician-778 on

So why is he not an electrician, a drummer, a painter or a teacher?

    3. CO-RockyMountainHigh on

Nothing quite like someone with a cushy job telling the youths to go play with electricity or water and human waste for 30+ years as a career.

He’s right, even if he is just a guy with a microphone. (I appreciate his artistry but the irony isn’t lost on me and I find just a little bit funny.)

    5. Most of these podcasters aren’t making any money. It’s not the top 0.01%. Being a successful podcaster is like being drafted by the NBA. It’s not happening for most people, even the talented ones.

You’re right Tyler. Please quit and become a skilled labourer. Lol

    7. Become a plumber is the “go to college it’s guaranteed money” for the 2020s… please stop listening to these people and find a career path that works for you.

Maybe we shouldn’t disproportionately incentivize sports athletes, musicians, and entertainers and under incentivize real hard work. Nobody wants to be a plumber if they could run a podcast and make money taking about how shitty plumbers have it and the lack of new plumbers entering the work force.

this just in: rich guy who made money off microphones needs you to get real and go into the trades lmao

    10. Podcasts are cheap to make and cater to someone’s interests and POV better than the mainstream.

Which is exactly why we’re fucked.

People go where the money is. I’m a photographer, Videographer, EDITOR, Writer and Journalist… And I am working diligently on trying to get monetized on TikTok and YouTube.

We just covered this in our latest episode that will drops later this week! If you haven’t checked us out before, we’re just 5 laid back guys from the midwest that like to give our random, hilarious takes on current events. We pride ourselves on audio quality and largely just making obscure pop culture references from a decade or two ago. This is all we have. Please, for the love of everything that is holy please somebody, anybody just listen.

Feels like 90% of podcasts don’t need to exist

Its the same rotating guests, same stories

And the big hook is the podcast host is buddies with someone famous „its the episode you’ve all been waiting for!!“ …………and that famous person may say one interesting line

And the true crime stuff takes something that could be told in 20 min and stretch it out forever. Its like a fight in dragon ball z.

I wouldn’t trust most of these idiots with my house’s plumbing. That takes actual skill and work ethic.

Are we really missing out on skilled trades because people are flocking to podcasts? I know my nephew wanted to be a YouTuber when he was 8, but now he’s learning guitar and wants to be a rockstar. I’m going to wait until he’s 18 to remind him that he’s been running CNC machines for most of his life and has a more marketable skill than axe slinger.

    16. The vast vast vast majority of people making podcasts are doing it in their free time after work.

I’m just picturing him being an electrician on the side, ranting about all these podcasters while he works on some wiring in an elderly couples local grocery store.

    18. Late_Ambassador7470 on

As a bartender, my thoughts on the trades are why would I do trade school to make similar money and work in the heat

Turns our raising 3 consecutive generations on the idea that they will make it big and famous without skills or they will be worthless isn’t a great move.

    20. Fantom_Renegade on

lol people who say this kill me

We aren’t running out of any of those skills

    21. NotVerySmarts on

As an electrician, I totally agree. I can’t wait to go on my podcast and talk about this.
