This is a warning:

Panama City Beach used to be endless white sands and little bungalows. Developers sued the Army Corps of Engineers and now there’s a line of beachfront multi-story condominiums that not only block of the views of the homes behind them but leaves them in shadow. The condos are gated with artificial landscaping and no trespassing signs.

As the restaurants and stores fill in around those cement behemoths, the place has gone from Redneck Riviera to the commercialized over-priced blandness, complete with McDonalds and big box stores, found anywhere.

And its just one warning out of many examples profit-driven development has turned into flavorless cookie-cutter sterility. And the big money men will do it to our park lands as well with no conscience.
