Not to get too political but the song was written by an Irish band in protest of an IRA terror bombing that killed 2 kids. Considering that Iran is the largest state sponsor of terrorism, this is quite ironic.

The lyrics are a double entendre. Zombie was slang for weed in the UK and Australia, so it’s asking „are you high“ at the same time as asking „are you a mindless war freak for your government“ at the same time. IDK
