The Constitution isn’t stopping them. I have little faith Senate rules will.

    2. Gross. Yeah, MAGA, we don’t do the kings here. The GOP wants to live up in trumps butt so bad.

    3. >Grassley, visibly irritated, offered a confusing defense of this provision. He insisted judges don’t have the authority to issue injunctions, which they do.

The old geezer’s going senile I fear.

Of all the kings in the world to choose from, MAGA picks a senior citizen who’s mind is already gone.

    5. But it made it through the house and the republican senators are whining there aren’t enough cuts to Medicare, Medicaid, snap ,heap to cover huge tax breaks to the richest people because we don’t want the billionaires to have to pay their own way the blue collar, elderly and poor must support the richest

Pepperidge Farm remembers how Chuck Grassley on the day of the Jan 6 riot said he didn’t expect Mike Pence to show up, and he would ponder whether or not to certify the 2020 election results in Pence’s absence, but then Pence’s kidnapping plan failed so it fell apart.

He doesn’t care about the law. Like one iota.

    8. Apparently it is against the rules for Congress to gift the President the powers of a monarch.

      Huh.

The part that is still weird to me is how all these Congress people are willingly giving up all of their power in exchange for an agenda they will no longer control. It’s just kind of weird to me that they cannot see that the monster is no longer under their control.

I thought the parliamentarian was the reason we didn’t get good shit done last term under biden, would be absolutely crazy to find out that the parliamentarian actually doesn’t mean shit and that was just a bullshit ruse for the dems to avoid actual progress that would disappoint their rich donors

    10. Good job to the parliamentarian that caught this. It appears that TACO will have to choose either to have a budget passed that doesn’t make him king or nothing passed.

Maybe the same language should also be considered for Congress as they have shown no interest for the good of the country.

    12. ALL Americans should all hate this party. Our founders fought to break free from what MAGA is creating in this country.

    13. How anyone can believe that courts don’t have the authority to issue injunctions is beyond me

Just a reminder when Biden was in office the parliamentarian put the kybosh on a federal min wage hike (can’t remember the reason, but not relevant IMHO).

The Democrats sought solutions, and Ro Kahna as well as a few others suggested firing the parliamentarian. Biden refused.

Now, let’s see how the Republicans handle this.

I only bring it up as one of a million measures, wherein the GOP will do ANYTHING to throw meat to a ravenous audience. And the Dems will seemingly always bow to tradition.

    15. So…the GOP will fire him, right?

      “My lord, is that…legal?”

      “I will make it legal.”
