I think they have proved themselves to be just the same as the other parties. They aren’t offering anything new and haven’t really proved themselves at a devolved level.
Nicola Sturgeon was carrying the party and her resignation showed that.
They are also too splintered. You have the ultra conservative „tartan Tory“ types and then you have the progressive types. The only thing they have in common is independence.
Can they also put their batshit crazy leaders on the back burner for 10 years?

You can’t just waste money asking every 10 years because you didn’t like the answer last time, that’s stupid
They’ve had years and years yet still haven’t been able to give firm answers on basic but incredibly important questions about post independence.
The first of which is who’s going to pay to rebuild Hadrian’s wall when the EU demand a hard border with a non EU state (the UK)
Brexit has shown just how difficult things can become, it was hard enough un-entangling the UK from 50 years of EU membership, imagine how difficult it’ll be for 300 years of union! There’s one massive problem that would need solving Shetland doesn’t seem overly enamoured with the idea of being part of an independent Scotland.
Also the oil industry is slowly on its way out and won’t bring in the money anymore.
They can’t it’s the only thing that holds all the different bits of the SNP together.

How much could another independence thingy cost and who would pay for it? How many refs will they have before admitting defeat?
Despite them still getting support I can’t help feeling that actually experiencing the SNP in long term government in Scotland hasn’t , for potential swing voters, been exactly a selling point for independence.
I find this absolutely hilarious. It has taken them over 10 years for them to get it.
Instead of focusing on the independence issue, they appeared to be pandering to every minority issue, positioning themselves diametrically against the UK government on each and every issue, and making pie in the sky promises that a paradise would exist post independence such as, in an independent Scotland, every will receive free pizza and Haagen Daas on Fridays, and pushing some rather questionable policies thanks to their alliance with the Greens.
Meanwhile, they showed themselves incapable of running a p up in a brewery, failing to deliver on any national infrastructure such as the ferries or the roads. They basically showed if they could not run Scotland now, how the hell would they do it with independence.
And their internal back stabbing and in fighting presided over by Comrade Nicola Stalin was the icing on the cake.
Come back in another generation with another generations talents.

All I ever hear from any Scottish person is how much they hate the English, so fuck them. Let them stand on their own two feet and sort their own shit out and raise their own money.
