Ich habe in der Mellieha Bay einen toten Seestern im Meer gefunden und möchte ihn mit nach Hause nehmen, aber jemand sagte uns, dass es verboten ist, und als wir uns untersuchen, begannen einige Informationen, dass es eine Geldstrafe entstehen könnte. Wir konnten keine klaren Informationen zur Bestätigung finden, aber ich glaube nicht, dass es sich um den gefährdeten roten Seestern handelt, den wir gesehen haben. Natürlich hätte sich die Farbe verändern können, da sie tot war.

dead fish will make a horrendous smell that travels for a few metres. even a dead crab will stink a whole apartment. so i wouldnt bother
I think it can get complicated depending on where you are travelling to and what species it really is:
“Starfish are marine wildlife and may fall under CITES protection, depending on the species.
In Malta (and the EU), exporting wildlife items—including sea stars—often requires a CITES “compliance clearance” from the Environment & Resources Authority. Bringing it into another country (especially outside the EU) may also require import permits or documentation.”

But if you decide to do so anyways, you should look into packing it properly.
Starfish are endangered and protected locally. Highly illegal to take out of the sea, dead or alive.
