Donnie is leaning towards directing ICE to raid rural communities less, and urban communities more. It always comes down to rules for thee, not for me.

Do they really think that any immigrant is going to give any weight to Trumps Farmers exemption the way ICE is currently operating

Wow- it’s almost like they should have paid attention to whom they were voting for. There goes Texas’ economy.

Maybe Joe Rogan and all the other comedians who moved there to avoid paying state taxes can pick fruit when they’re not comeding.

Maybe they can write it down in a diary or something, anything they can revisit before the next election.

I don’t want the business this way. But a lot of new potential yard accounts lately. But what they are used to paying and my rate are no where close to but their last guy “just stopped showing up”

Even legal workers aren’t going to want to be in the fields, as ICE clearly doesn’t care about status if you are brown.

I remember the Trump administration hobbled California farming by letting out the reservoirs at the wrong time (and fox blamed it on dems). I hope there isn’t major food scarcity coming up. What happens then?

Farmer more or less admits to hiring people who didn’t have correct papers or evidence of being in the country illegally. Father doesn’t pay enough for citizens or others who have been in the country longer to want the jobs. So, demand for illegal help is created.
And they wonder why so many people cross the border? Could it be because they find work to support their families, and even send back home?
It’s like drug problems. Going after users doesn’t work as long as there is demand and supply. Go after suppliers and make efforts to reduce demand…(I thought it was illegal to hire undocumented workers?)
Yes, decent wages for farm help would raise food prices. But if keeping food prices lower causes other unpalatable and expensive problems, then maybe we need to look at the way we produce food.
